Sustainability expert Kate Himes had a big year last year. She moved her family to a new home, traveled to Africa, and launched her own business! Before her website went live, she called me for some expert advice on how to best represent herself through her wardrobe for an upcoming photoshoot.
Kate said, “I had a very specific need to prepare for a photoshoot and the launch of my new website, Simply Sustainable. Let me just say, I need a lot of help with my wardrobe under normal circumstances, so considering these new pieces would become part of my brand and online identity, it was really important that we get it right!”
We had a core wardrobe built after working together during her first Sort, Shop & Style, so it was only a matter of shopping for a few key pieces, choosing colors, and planning outfits that represented her essence.
“Scarlet came through brilliantly, as she always does. We exchanged a few emails to establish a common understanding of my business and desires in relation to the new blog launch. We booked a boutique tour that was focused primarily on high-end consignment and local shops so that I could stay true to my values of sustainable living. Together we crafted a capsule collection full of color, personality and the image I wanted to project on camera.”
Because I know how much you love to see Before & Afters, I asked Kate if she would allow me to post some “pre Scarlet” photos and she agreed.
Here are the “post Scarlet” photos, some of which she’s used on her website!
Congratulations on the launch of your business, Kate! And best wishes for a grand 2015!
