HEY THERE, I'M SCARLET.
I’m a personal stylist and jewelry designer based in Portland, Oregon.
You may have seen my clients walking red carpets at the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards, or stepping onstage at TED conferences. I’ve dressed bestselling authors like Cheryl Strayed, I've styled writers like Kelly Sue DeConnick and Matt Fraction, and I’ve designed custom jewelry for musicians like China Forbes, Esperanza Spalding, and Liv Warfield.
But most of my clients aren’t “celebrities.” They identify themselves as small business owners, entrepreneurs, executives, fundraisers, workshop leaders, creatives, educators, activists, parents—people from all walks of life.
Often times they are people moving through a transition in their lives whether it be personally or professionally.
If you’re getting ready for a big media appearance, a romantic encounter, a job interview, or searching for a stylish "everyday uniform" for running errands around town, I’d love to work with you.
And if you're ready to ditch the old version of your wardrobe completely because it's time to reinvent your look from head to toe, you've found your stylist!
MISSION
Too often we waste precious time stressed about what to wear when we've got other things to do! I want you to have a stylish, pared-down closet filled with outfits you literally can’t wait to wear, thoughtfully chosen and authentic to you.
My approach to styling is empathic, artistic, and intuitive. I believe that dressing can be a way to express the best parts of ourselves to the world, and sometimes the parts we're working on to embrace. Style can speak volumes and values, creating conversations as well as a measurable impact on our self-esteem, the local economy and the planet.
My goal is to leave you with an empowering, hassle-free wardrobe that lights you up so that people see a brighter you!
You can check out my new client services here—and yes!, I work with people based all over the country, not just in Portland. I make regular trips to New York City, Los Angeles, and Seattle and style clients online.
AWARDS & PRESS
I was named “Portland’s Best Wardrobe Stylist” by the Portland Fashion & Style Awards in 2016. I was nominated two years in a row for an Orchid Award and once for 40 Under 40 by The Portland Business Journal.
I've consulted with trend experts and styled groups like reception teams at hotels and sales forces for companies. I've appeared on local TV programs like Portland Today and had the privilege to style news anchors at KPTV.
My styling work has been featured in Vanity Fair, Fast Company, People, AstroStyle, Apartment Therapy and local publications like Portland Monthly.
INSPIRATION
Searching for style inspiration? In addition to running my blog and newsletter, I’m a fervent Pinterest board creator, and I love sharing outfits and behind-the-scenes moments on Instagram. If you visit my studio, you'll see my inspo come to life on our giant vision board.
#SHOPINDIE
I’m proud to support independent clothing, footwear, jewelry, and accessory designers. I encourage my clients to shop locally whenever possible. I believe in voting with your dollars and supporting companies that maintain ethical, humane practices that align with your personal and political values. Because when you’re supporting good people and know where things are being made, it makes getting dressed feel even better.
OFF THE CLOCK
I spend my days transforming closets, shopping for the perfect pieces, scouting out new designers, and styling lots and lots of outfits.
When I’m not working, you can find me surfing, dancing, thrifting, enjoying delicious food and Oregon wine with my family and friends, or bouncing around outside with my happy-go-lucky, taller-than-average Goldendoodle, Gunnar.
