I am very excited to introduce my new interview series, Admired: An Interview with Scarlet Chamberlin. As promised, I told you I would give up all my secrets first! The series is focused on heartening and motivational women of interest ranging in age, culture, careers and location, with one thing in common – personal style! Already, we have had great responses. I can’t wait to share with you the down-to-earth, silly, and powerful answers these women had to my prying questions. I hope these interviews will inspire you just as much as these women inspire me.

What is your current state of mind?
Euphoric, it’s almost time for vacation!

What is your proudest moment?
Epic team victories. In basketball, love, life… and adult soapbox derby.

What do you celebrate most about your body?
My booty, it’s not going anywhere so I better embrace it.

What scares you?
The dark, for real, like when I’m camping (which rarely happens).

How do you keep yourself motivated on a day you’re just not feelin’ it?
Spontaneous dance parties.

What do you consider the most overrated virtue?
Multitasking.

What are your obsessions?
Calories, clothes and shoes.

Name one item in your closet you will never get rid of?
My Dad’s old Norwegian sweater from maritimes in Europe.

What is an outfit that you would be “too emabarrassed” to wear?
I can find a way to wear almost anything, well.

What is your personal motto?
Your life is what you make of it.

If you were to die, and come back as a person or thing, what would it be?
A dolphin, of course.

What do you wear to sleep?
My birthday suit.

What do you most value in your friends?
They see the best in me, light me up and remind me to take life a little less seriously.

Who are your favorite writers?
Caitlin Moran is making me laugh a lot right now!

What word of phrase do you most overuse?
West Coast superlatives, like “rad” and “awesome.”

What type of music gets you dancing?
Hip Hop.

What is the quality you most like in a man?
His ability to grow facial hair.

What is the quality you most like in a woman?
Courage.

On what occasion do you lie?
When asked if I’ve read a particular book… When I say yes, I
really just skimmed it.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Beachside in the tropics with a point break, wi-fi access and my man.
