Last week, I had the opportunity to take some fabulous clients and friends to Portland Garment Factory to preview the upcoming 2014 Fall and 2015 Spring house collections, appropriately called Houseline. Wow, do these ladies create gorgeous clothing!
We went with a specific mission in mind – jumpers! Owners Rosemary and Britt are experts in designing and constructing garments that are chic and comfortable, so I couldn’t wait to create this opportunity for fashionable ladies to try on their special selection of unbelievable jumpers. The collections were beautiful and it was incredible to see how the jumpers fit every single body type in the room. Honestly, everything flattered our unique and varied figures – which is so rare, and a testament to how well Portland Garment Factory knows women’s bodies.
We started the evening getting to know each other, wine in hand, taking in their dreamy space, and checking out the thoughtfully displayed pieces. Britt and Rosemary delivered an introduction to their clothing, insight on what Portland Garment Factory does, and why they believe in American made manufacturing. It’s impressive what they’ve built in what feels like such a short time – at any moment, they could be working with 15 or more clients on production of their goods, while managing PGF Houseline, and taking on the occasional custom project for special clients! After learning about all that they are up to, we eagerly jumped in to try on jumpers (and some tops and dresses). Here are some pics!
It truly was the best way to spend a Thursday evening, and we all left so in love with Rosemary and Britt. They are talented, down-to-earth, dynamic women who make beautiful clothing and care deeply about their community. We can’t wait to have another event with them in the future… and wear our jumpers!
