Cheryl Strayed in People Magazine

It has been so much fun working with writer Cheryl Strayed on her wardrobe for events associated with the premiere of the film Wild. The film is an adaptation of her memoir, where she tells the story of her solo hike on the Pacific Crest Trail at a time before cell phones. Cheryl’s character is played by Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern plays her mother. Here are the ladies, as pictured in People Magazine today. Cheryl is wearing a DKNY dress, a Lionette necklace, crystal earrings from Amelia, a leather jacket from Zara, and Gentle Souls heels. She looks gorgeous.

Wild is about so much more than just a hike. If you’ve read the book, you know, and if you haven’t, you should! Tiny Beautiful Things is also amazing (I’m on my second read). It’s a book of excerpts from Cheryl’s anonymous advice column Dear Sugar, and it is life changing, for real. I can’t speak to Torch yet, but I love that Cheryl almost always wears a silver ring engraved with it’s title to commemorate her first book being published.

Cheryl lives in Portland. She’s been traveling the country on book tour and attending exciting events associated with the film which opens on December 5th. She just so happens to be in Portland tomorrow night for a free reading at PNCA. Go if you can, it will be fantastic!
