We are hosting a very exciting Clothing Swap in a couple weeks! The event is inspired by the incredible book, Women In Clothes, which I lately can’t stop raving about. I came across this podcast where all three authors sit down and do a little storytelling themselves. It’s perfectly produced and so thoughtful. Great for a mid-day coffee break!
Design Week Portland, kicks off on the 4th with plenty of events and open studios to check out. Which designer are you most excited about?
I’ll go first- I am most excited about these two ladies: Liza Reitz & Emily Bixler of Boet. If you didn’t catch their opening reception at the Museum of Contemporary Craft yesterday, they are hosting an open house together on Oct. 7th!
Here’s an interesting article on denim. Are we really swapping our classic American staple, jeans and a tee, for yoga pants and a sweatshirt? I encourage everyone to get dressed this weekend! And if you’ve given up on jeans because you’re not quite sure how to care for your denim investments, refer back to this!
Maybe you’d like to get out a see a play this weekend. Intimate Apparel is a historical look into the life of an African American seamstress who creates exquisite lingerie for 5th Avenue boudoirs in 1900’s NYC. From an award winning playwright, this poignant tale offers a look into an era when what you wore and the color of your skin determined so much.
