Launching Her New Look!

I had the pleasure of styling Dorine Nafziger, The Postpartum Wonder Woman , earlier this year as she was preparing for a big trip to LA. It had been several years since she’d invested in some new clothes for herself. Dorine was in one of those transition phases (We all know about those, right?!). She was getting ready to walk into the ring with some heavy-hitting entrepreneurs and wanted to make a lasting impression. This was when The Postpartum Wonder Woman was still in utero.

First, we did away with all her old clothes that were dull, worn out, out of style or the wrong size. After the initial purge, we worked with what she had to get some immediate needs met, and then it was time to shop! I hit up boutiques I knew would be the perfect fit for her style and her budget, while she did a little shopping online. When we came back together things had changed radically. I had shown her how to rock skinny jeans, and suggested she needed more jewels in her life. Gold really resonated for her, so we ran with that. What happened was amazing! She had totally embraced her new look, and was suddenly even more stunning! Wonder Woman had found her inner, fabulously-dressed, self.

We tried on the new hot pink skinny jeans and gold boots and she said, “I don’t know Scarlet, this could be too much…” and I was like “Listen woman! You look great and it’s your time to shine!” I saw her radiant, colorful, immense personality come out, and suddenly she was standing taller with even more confidence. She put her full faith in the looks we styled and completely owned it!

Now, months later, her business is launching (That polaroid is from a photoshoot for her business. I wasn’t there, but I can sense her passion through the image!). She has fully embraced color and knows exactly what shapes flatter her figure. Dorine was just stuck in a rut, like all of us get sometimes. I helped reset her course, and now she is expressing her dynamic personality fearlessly through her appearance. She says she feels amazing, and you can tell!

Dorine and I met recently at din din for lunch (Which, by the way, is such a cute spot!) and we got to talking about the compliments she’s received over the last several months since she’s been dressing differently. Watch Dorine tell you herself just how gratifying the compliments can get…
